Welcome To
Faculty will always have
representation if they need help in their working environment!
The Union has information to educate bargaining unit employees about their Weingarten rights BEFORE an occasion to use them arises. The Union provides information for all faculty on opening day, spring and fall. The Union also has an office on campus that provides information and brochures for all faculty; room 104 or now building 13 on the main Chula Vista campus.
The Weingarten rights state: "If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at the meeting. Without Union representation, I choose not to answer questions." 1975 U.S. Supreme Court Weingarten Decision.
If you are called into your supervisor's office for any reason that may indicate you need Union representation, please contact our Union office on campus; Ext. 5784 or Office 104 - now known as building 13 on the main Chula Vista campus.
